U11
The U11 Cowichan Thunder played their hearts out at the Oceanside Shark Bite tournament this past weekend, coming away with a sixth place finish. Their best game of the tournament featured a 7-4 victory over Victoria-Esquimalt where the team's passing and shooting all seemed to click, and their defence and goaltending were the difference-makers.
The team boasted four all-stars: Everett Degagne, Ethan Fornasa, Emma Spooner, and Levi Wong.
Cowichan got outstanding goaltending from Carter Arsenault, who got two MVP awards, and Dash Grumme, who earned the win against Victoria-Esquimalt.
"It was so great to see the kids play to their potential and deliver their best lacrosse of the year," said co-coach Kevin Rothbauer. "The coaches couldn't be more proud of the way they played, bonded and supported each other on and off the floor."
Up next is a week of practice before winding up their season with games Saturday, Sunday and next Tuesday.
