Players on Williams Lake's new Junior A hockey team are in need of billet homes for the upcoming season.
"The Mustangs are excited to be welcoming a talented group of players to Williams Lake, and we are working hard to find them wonderful homes for them for next season," said Leslie Rowse, team manager.
"Welcoming a billet into your family or home promises to be a rewarding experience for both the billet families and the player."
She said potential billet families can specify preferences or specific family situations when it comes to hosting. The team's billet coordinator will provide assistance and guidance through out the process of meeting families and players. They will also work to best match personalities and preferences, for the best outcome for both.
Families will be paid a stipend every month to cover all the expenses of having a player billet live with them. The team will have a set of rules and expectations that the families can be sure will be enforced within the team. Family home expectations will also be included.
Families will also receive support throughout the season to ensure the placement is going well.
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League announced in March that the Summerland Steam franchise was sold and relocated to Williams Lake, where they are now known as the Mustangs.
The new Williams Lake franchise is owned and operated by a local group consisting of Tyrel and Robin Lucas, Gerald Overton, Brad Paddison, Parnell Pinette, and Aaron and Nathan Zurak.
