With Operation Red Nose (ORN) almost halfway through the season, coordinator Deb Pickering said they have already having completed four of nine nights of activity.
"We are off to a great start this season with ride numbers on par with the past two years. By the end of the fourth night, we gave 55 rides in 2022, 83 rides in 2023, and 81 rides in 2024."
Pickering said community response is positive.
"Volunteers driving folks home are a fantastic group of people that make my job as coordinator so much more fun."
As the Christmas party season continues, she encourages people to use the service.
"We are ready to give you and your vehicle safe rides home from venues in town and from house parties."
People using the service must have a vehicle that volunteers will drive home for them as ORN does not want to compete with local taxi services.
To use ORN, the number to call is 250-392-2222.
"Call about half an hour before you wish to be picked up," Pickering said.
Rides will be available December 13, 14, 20, 21 and 31.
Proceeds from ORN will be going to Cariboo Chilcotin Gymnastics Association, Cariboo Chilcotin Youth Fiddlers Society, Camp Likely and Williams Lake Minor Hockey U18 Female Rep Hockey Team.
