Williams Lake neighbourhood loses power after pole struck

Some residents along South Lakeside Drive are without power after a driver struck a power pole with a vehicle on Aug. 5.

A number of properties on the east end of South Lakeside were without power Monday evening after a vehicle struck a power pole.

The area impacted was the Russet Bluff subdivision area of Williams Lake. 

BC Hydro said the outage began for 170 customers at 7:46 p.m.

People in the area said the vehicle hit the power pole and then came to a stop in a front yard.

RCMP, Williams Lake Fire Department, BC Emergency Health Services all responded to the incident.

There were no injuries reported.

BC Hydro reported crews are on site as of 8:19 p.m. 

Power was restored at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6.
