Two days in a row the Williams Lake Fire Department extinguished fires in the area known as the Dairy Fields off the end of Midnight Drive.

On Thursday, Aug 15 at 1 p.m. members were dispatched for reports of smoke in the area.

"Our first responding officer was able to find a route to it," said Assistant Chief Cory Boyd.

Once the responding officer was on scene, the officer confirmed there was a 100 feet x 20 feet wildfire burning there.

Boyd said an engine, tender, and duty trucks attended with a total of 12 firefighters and remained on scene for 40 minutes.

"It is suspected to be human caused," he noted.
