A wildfire previously burning out of control south of Parksville is now being held, according to BC Wildfire Service.
The fire at Labour Day Lake was discovered Tuesday afternoon (June 10) and as of 4 p.m. Wednesday was listed at 5.7 hectares in size.
There are currently four initial attack crews and one helicopters responding to the wildfire.
A wildfire being held means that it is projected, based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability, to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary.
The fire is suspected to be human-caused, according to BC Wildfire Service.
