A Supreme Court justice alone will hear the matter of a Vernon man accused of murder.
The case of Peter Michael Visintainer, born in 1961, will go to trial July 21.
Visintainer originally elected to be tried by judge and jury, but he appeared in court Monday, June 23, to apply to change his election to judge alone, which was granted.
He is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the 2022 death of Wolf-Ingo Beyer, whose body was found on Six Mile Creek Road off Westside Road on May 29, 2022.
Visintainer was arrested a few days later and charged with second-degree murder, but that charge was later upgraded to first-degree.
