Voters will have more chances to hear from Nanaimo-Ladysmith candidates

Various groups offering a chance for public to become informed in the lead up to election day in Canada

Prospective members of Parliament for Nanaimo-Ladysmith will continue to face questions from the public in the coming weeks.

Lisa Marie Barron, NDP candidate, Tamara Kronis (Conservative), Paul Manly (Green), Michelle Corfield (Liberal) and Stephen Welton (People's Party) will be the names on the ballot, according to Elections Canada. They have been invited to take part in various all-candidates meetings taking place in the Harbour City.

Vancouver Island University's political studies department is hosting a forum Tuesday, April 22, at Malaspina Theatre on the Nanaimo campus beginning at 7 p.m. Candidates will give opening statements and a question period will follow. No registration is required and the entire community is welcome.

Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Home Builders' Association Vancouver Island will host an all-candidates meeting a day later, Wednesday, April 23, from 6-8 p.m. at Coast Bastion Hotel in downtown Nanaimo, according to a press release. There will be moderated questions and ones from the public.

Election day is Monday, April 28 and advance voting will be available Friday through Monday, April 18-21, at assigned advance polling stations.
