VIDEO: Lac La Hache vintage truck owner excited to preserve history

When Ross Curry purchased an old truck he discovered it had been Ed Pincott's

Ross Curry of Lac La Hache brought his 1943 Dodge 1/2 ton four-speed manual with a 1971 Boler trailer to the Lakers Car Club Spring Roundup Show and Shine in Williams Lake.

On Sunday, May 25, he was one of more than 200 vehicle owners on site in the city's downtown to show his vehicle and share information about it.

He purchased it two years ago and said when he took the panels off he found a paper, all folded gently in the board.
“It’s where Ed Pincott at Buffalo Creek near 100 Mile bought it in 1953 from Begg Motor Company and he moved it up to start the ranch,” Curry explained. “He lost his arm in the war, yet he drove this to the ranch.”

Curry said when he found the paper he got hold of the family and it was neat to share the information.

“Hal, the oldest boy, went through some pictures and he sent me one of it all loaded up and a sign underneath said ‘off to the Cariboo.’”

When asked if he'd tried his rig out yet, he smiled and replied he and his wife had taken it to Helena Lake on the long weekend in May, even hauling a boat.
