It won't be far for Vicki Proulx to move her belongings from one office to another.

The experienced fundraiser and community advocate is leaving North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society (NOYFSS) to work with Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Vernon and District as its new director of fund development and communication.

“We are excited to have Vicki join our team,” said Julia Payson, CMHA Vernon executive director.

“Vicki has a strong track record of community engagement and assisting non-profit organizations achieve their fundraising and communication goals. We are looking forward to Vicki bringing her passion to CMHA Vernon, particularly as we move ahead with major initiatives like Foundry North Okanagan and youth mental health services.”

Proulx was most recently director of fund development and communications with NOYFSS, located on 32nd Avenue, and was previously executive director of Vernon Winter Carnival. Her new gig takes her a few blocks south to the CMHA Vernon office.

She has also operated her own marketing and promotion business and has been an integral part of CMHA Vernon’s Ride Don’t Hide event for the last three years.

Originally from Armstrong, Proulx is active in community theatre in Vernon. She also enjoys spending time at the beach with her daughter. Both are appearing in the upcoming Powerhouse Theatre production of Radium Girls.

“I am looking forward to joining the incredible team at CMHA Vernon and supporting their efforts in providing and enhancing essential mental health services to residents of the North Okanagan,” said Proulx.
