It was an opportunity to explore career options and education opportunities at an event at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Williams Lake on March 6.
From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. prospective students or parents of prospective students, were invited into the local campus to find out what programs were available and what employers are looking for.
There were opportunities to engage with the licensed practical nursing program, the regenerative agriculture program, and other training and education offered at the local university campus.
There were also opportunities to chat with a number of area employers on the lookout for potential future employees.
RCMP, Taseko's Gibraltar Mine, School District 27, Cariboo Age Care, and Work BC were some of those speaking to students, prospective students and parents about what job opportunities might be in the community right now.
"We're very thankful for all the employers that came out to support the students and the community," said Kim Kimberlin, student recruitment and events coordinator at TRU Williams Lake.
