Three fire chiefs have been reappointed to head their CRD-funded volunteer fire departments in the Central Cariboo.
Paul McCarthy will stay on at 150 Mile, Quintin Duhamel at Miocene and Brad Elliott at Wildwood.
Recently the CRD officially appointed fire chiefs throughout the region, following a May 2 in-camera meeting decision made public in an open session.
A news release from the CRD said a call for applications was put to each departments' members once the three-year terms were up for the various fire chiefs.
Appointment for a three-year term is a long-established practice for the CRD’s volunteer fire departments, noted the release, adding that Forest Grove Fire Department does not have a newly-appointed chief yet but the process is underway.
Other appointments include: 108 Mile VFD - Chris Haddad, Barlow Creek VFD - David Sugden, Bouchie Lake VFD - Harald Bartel (new), Deka Lake VFD - Glenn Hiltz (new), Interlakes VFD - Poul Beer, Kersley VFD - Dennis Syvertsen (new), Lac La Hache VFD - Eric Herl (new), Lone Butte VFD - Jon Grieve, Ten Mile VFD - Quinn Miller (new) and West Fraser VFD - Lance Wilkins.
