A boat that was stolen in Alberta more than three years ago has been recovered by Kelowna RCMP.
On June 28 around 4 p.m., Kelowna RCMP seized the 25' Super Air Nautique from the 200-block of Bernard Avenue near the Downtown Marina.
“This is a great example of how proactive policing and partnerships help to return property to people regardless of how long time has passed,” said Cpl. Guillaume Tanguay of the Proactive Enforcement Unit. “Police received information from a partner agency that the boat may be on the water in Kelowna and with a keen eye were able to successfully return the boat to its rightful owner with minimal damage.”
The vessel is estimated to cost about $100,000.
A lone individual operating the boat was detained and released on scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
