The Saanich Police Department is warning that an individual is making fraudulent calls, claiming to solicit donations that will support Saanich police families.
"These calls are scams. The Saanich Police do not solicit donations over the phone," noted a news release from the department.
Anyone who receives one of said scam-calls is asked to note the caller's phone number, and then report it to the Saanich police non-emergency line at 250-475-4321.
