The 150 Mile House fire hall will be getting some much-needed renovations.

"The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) with the 150 Mile House Volunteer Fire Department recognize that the building is in need of substantial repairs/renovations to bring it into compliance with current building code standards," said the CRD in a request for proposal notice.

Contractors interested in doing the work are invited to submit proposals including a detailed assessment and estimate for the cost of the upgrades.

Forms for the RFP are available on the CRD website

The CRD noted the hall was initially built using volunteer labour in 1981 and 1982.

At the time it had three bays and one meeting room with a small bathroom, plus a community portion of the building on a second floor that had a small kitchen and two bathrooms.

In the early 1990s an addition was built that added on two bays and a meeting room and on the second floor added more bathrooms and a large hall space. The total building is approximately 8,104 square feet.

The closing date for submissions is Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024 at 2 p.m.
