RCMP officers in Williams Lake responded to a broad range of calls for their services from June 7 through 11.
According to a release from RCMP, police noted some calls of interest of the 160 calls during those five days, including their attendance of an overnight fire behind the Hamilton Hotel.
On June 7, one 26-year-old man was reportedly observed breaching his conditions at a local business by an officer, resulting in the man's arrest until he could appear in court. A police patrol on Mackenzie Avenue also led to police observing a man on what they believed was a stolen motorcycle. The man was subsequently arrested and the motorcycle was then returned to the owner.
During another patrol on Mackenzie Avenue, a traffic stop led to a 90-day roadside prohibition for another man, with his vehicle being impounded for 30 days. At a traffic stop on Broadway Avenue South, another driver believed to be impaired received a three-day roadside driving prohibition and the vehicle was towed.
On June 8, one driver was pulled over by police, who they then found to be driving while prohibited after having previously received a 90-day prohibition. The vehicle was then impounded and the driver was issued a violation ticket as well as given a court date for prohibited driving.
The same day, a 26-year-old man was observed allegedly breaching his conditions at a local business, he was arrested and held in custody for court.
On June 9, another proactive patrol by police resulted in locating a man who was wanted on a warrant, police said he was arrested without issue and released with a court date. Another similar incident resulted in the arrest of another man wanted on a warrant, this time this man was held in custody to appear in court.
The Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit and Williams Lake RCMP also worked together to arrest two men in separate instances for possession of drugs in a public area.
Police responded to a vehicle crash at Yorston St. and Seventh Ave. N. on June 9, leading to the arrest of a driver they believed to be driving while drug impaired.
RCMP are also continuing to investigate an unidentified suspect believed to have set a fire near a business at Mackenzie Ave. and Yorston St.
June 10, one male was arrested for reportedly causing a disturbance near Second Avenue and Cameron Street and was then held in custody until sober enough to care for himself. In a separate incident, another male was arrested for allegedly causing a disturbance near the Williams Lake Stampede Grounds, and also held in custody until he could care for himself.
The Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction unit arrested a 47-year-old male for suspected drug trafficking and in a proactive patrol the same day, police pulled over a vehicle and reported locating drugs, leading to the arrest and search of the male, who was later released.
At another vehicle stopped during patrol, the driver was believed to be too impaired and given a 24-hour roadside driving prohibition as well as a six-month driving prohibition required to be served.
On June 11, a single motor vehicle crash on Dog Creek Road, RCMP attended. It was believed the driver swerved to avoid a deer and subsequently went off the road.
RCMP also attended a vehicle fire on Mackenzie Avenue North, with the vehicle engulfed in flames. Police patrolled the area but were unable to locate any suspects.
While out on a proactive patrol for a wanted person, police were able to locate the person, who was arrested and released to appear at a new court date.
