As just one way of celebrating Prime Month, Oak Bay is hosting a free, public swim on Friday (June 27).

The event, open to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, will take place at the district's 1975 Bee St. rec centre from 7 to 10 p.m.

“Dive into the pool, relax in the hot tub and enjoy water slides and more,” the district said in a news release. “Bring your friends and family – everyone is welcome at this all-ages event.”

Oak Bay will accept optional donations, all of which will support the Victoria Pride Society – a non-profit dedicated to supporting Greater Victoria’s 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

“Within Oak Bay parks, recreation and culture programs, we value inclusion and diversity, which helps foster a culture of respect and belonging,” Oak Bay said in the release. “This provides opportunities to learn about and accept individual differences, as well as providing safe spaces for all.”
