Police searching for suspect wanted for downtown Victoria assault

The Victoria Police Department is searching for a man who was caught on video assaulting another man downtown on May 21.

The Victoria Police Department is searching for a man who was caught on video assaulting another man near the northwest corner of Douglas Street and View Street at about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21.

The suspect is described as a white man of average build, wearing a tan baseball hat, a black and grey hooded shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. He was last seen walking westbound on View Street after the attack.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the man or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also seeking dashcam, cellphone, or security camera footage from the area of Douglas Street and View Street between 5 and 5:40 p.m. on May 21.
