PHOTOS: Teams swing for the fences at Vernon Funtastic slo-pitch tournament

115 teams are taking part in the annual Funtastic A&W Slo-Pitch Tournament and Music Festival

Canada Day weekend has seen the Vernon DND grounds packed with teams taking part in the annual Funtastic A&W Slo-Pitch Tournament.

A total of 115 teams are taking part in this year's tournament, and on Saturday, teams enjoyed hot and sunny weather on the DND baseball diamonds.

The tournament started Friday, June 28, and the final games will be played on Monday, July 1, Canada's 157th birthday.

A number of slo-pitch players came dressed in colourful costumes, with one pitcher donning a sun costume — fitting for a hot day of people soaking up the rays.

As the slo-pitch tournament continues, so too does the live music. The Funtastic Music Festival is carrying on Saturday night, featuring Courtney Hunt, Riley Taylor and Aaron Goodvin.

Sunday will see Dying Breed, Heinze Band, Barracuda and BC/DC take the stage.

Tickets to Funtastic can be purchased at funtasticsports.ca
