There's a new pair of eyes watching the dollars and cents at the Town of View Royal.
Bringing with him an extensive background in municipal accounting and financial management, Troy Ziegler has joined the town as the new director of finance.
Ziegler has previously worked for the District of Saanich and has served as the director of financial services for the District of Central Saanich.
“Having Troy join our incredible team at View Royal will add an experienced and knowledgeable asset to our organization,” said Mayor Sid Tobias in a news release. “Troy’s experience working as a senior financial officer and tacit knowledge of the municipal, regional and provincial landscape will ensure that council and staff are well supported."
With 19 years of municipal accounting experience, the town says Ziegler's skills encompass financial planning, budget management, and fostering interdepartmental collaboration to achieve organizational goals.
“I’m very grateful to be serving the Town of View Royal,” said Ziegler. “I look forward to working with chief administrative officer Scott Sommerville and the leadership team to implement the operational and strategic priorities of mayor and council.”
