Firefighters from Port Alberni, Beaver Creek, Cherry Creek and Sproat Lake departments responded to a structure fire on Compton Road on Saturday, Dec. 28 around 1:30 p.m.
Crews had the fire, in the 5100-block of Compton Road near Grandview Road, knocked down quickly. Compton was closed between Kitsuksis Road and Indian Avenue but re-opened to traffic a couple of hours after the initial response.
It was the second call in a couple of hours for the Port Alberni Fire Department, which responded to a two-vehicle MVI at Redford Street and Fourth Avenue late in the morning.
