A pair of Maple Ridge men were arrested after an alleged theft at Mission Landfill on June 6.

Two Maple Ridge men were arrested in relation to a theft at Mission Landfill earlier this month.

According to a Mission RCMP news release, a 36-year-old and 63-year-old from Maple Ridge were nabbed on June 6 shortly after 4 a.m.

Police say a security company notified them of a theft-in-progess at the landfill. A black Ford F-150 used by the suspects was last seen heading west toward Maple Ridge, so the Mission detachment notified Ridge Meadows RCMP as well.

The pair were arrested soon after finding the truck.

“Items believed to have been stolen from the landfill were located in the truck, along with a quantity of suspected drugs,” Mission RCMP said.

The detachment says an investigation is ongoing.
