A suspect is at large after the attempted robbery of an Oak Bay bank.
Oak Bay police report a male suspect "wearing a black cloak" and sunglasses attempted to rob a bank in the 2000 block of Cadboro Bay Rd on April 22.
“No cash or items were taken, and no weapons were produced,” Oak Bay PD said in a news release. “The suspect fled east on Cadboro Bay Road on foot prior to police arrival.”
Oak Bay PD attended the scene, along with police units from Saanich and Victoria police departments. The Integrated Canine Service was also there to provide assistance.
No injuries were reported, and the suspect was not located.
The Oak Bay News reached out to the police department but was unable to get further information on the attempted robbery.
"I have no other knowledge beyond the media release about this investigation,” said acting supervisor Matt McNichol
Oak Bay PD's chief and deputy chief, as well as the case's primary investigator, weren't available for comment on April 29.
