Residents awoke to thick smoke hanging over South Lakeside Monday morning.
It appeared the smoke was from open burning of brush piles that took place Sunday and today.
Williams Lake’s air quality rating was higher, rated as a 5 at a moderate health risk early Monday morning, but is already starting to dissipate as weather conditions allow ventilation of the valley air.
