On April 27, the Cowichan Lake Community Forest Co-Operative presented cheques to six of 10 charities as part of their annual mandate of generating revenue to support the community.
The BC Ambassador Society, Lake Days Society, Cowichan Lake Salmon Enhancement Society, Cowichan Lake Arts and Culture Society, Cowichan Lake Community Garden, and Kaatza Historical Society were all on hand to receive cheques. Other donations were made to the Otaki Society, the LSC theatre program, the Boy Scouts, and the River Notes Choir.
All told, the forest co-op donated close to $25,000.
