Charrybelle Talaue is facing charges after a Central Saanich police investigation that allegedly found she applied for a nursing job with forged documents.

A woman accused of fraud and impersonating a nurse has been arrested in the United States and has been returned to Canada to face multiple charges.

Charrybelle Talaue was charged in 2024 with several counts of fraud, forgery and personation after allegedly misrepresenting herself as a registered nurse in incidents believed to go as far back as December 2023 across the Capital Region.

As the investigation progressed, Central Saanich police expanded their efforts to Alberta, where additional charges were laid against Talaue.

Police say she fled while awaiting trial, prompting the issuance of arrest warrants.

Talaue was eventually located in Idaho by Central Saanich investigators. With the cooperation of U.S. and Canadian authorities, the woman was taken into custody and returned to Canada.

Talaue remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Victoria on May 12.

The Peninsula News Review previously reported that Island Health alerted Central Saanich police in October 2023 after Talaue, 34 at the time, applied for a nursing position using suspicious documents.

The B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives later confirmed that Talaue has never been a registered nurse in the province.

Police believe she has used multiple aliases to apply for and work in other health-care jobs in both B.C. and Alberta.
