Candidates announced for April 29 Ulkatcho First Nation election

Candidates are announced for Ulkatcho First Nation’s upcoming chief and council election for another two-year term.  

There are five candidates running for chief including Anthony Sims and Nelson (Charlie) Williams who currently sit on council. Also on the ballot are Tina Alexis, Dereck Sill and Stella West.  

Up for councillor are Andre Cahoose, Corinne Cahoose, Lorne Cahoose, Corrine Casimir, Breanna Charleyboy, Destiny Francois, Bradley Jimmie, Alysha Knapp, Douglas Sill, Anthony Sims, Jennifer West, Stella West and Trent Williams. 

Eligible voters can cast their ballot electronically, by mail or at the polls on April 29. Voting instructions will be received by mail for registered voters.  

Polls will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ulkatcho First Nation Community Hall, 2489 Domas Squinas Drive. The count will be done immediately after the polls close and broadcast on Zoom.  

Notice of polls was given on March 20 and candidates were announced on March 26 by the electoral officer Marcus Hadley.  

Ulkatcho’s current Chief Lynda Price is not named on this year's ballots.
