A fire that caused extensive damage to a home on Casorso Road, Saturday, June28., was fully extinguished just before 4 p.m. said Kelowna Assistant Fire Chief Jason Bedell.

Crews arrived on scene to smoke and flames coming from the attic of the structure at about 2:40 p.m.

Bedell said he believes there were about five residents inside the house when the fire started. However, there were no reported injuries from the incident.

"Emergency support services are going to be dealing with 11 people from this house at this time," Bedell said.

An investigation into what caused the blaze is underway, he added.

A total of 23 firefighters responded to the blaze. RCMP  and FortisBC crews were also on scene.
