The Blue Bottle Program aims to help keep people’s health information ready and accessible in case of emergency.

The program helps make sure, even if a person is unable to respond or provide their vital health information themselves, the information is available to health care providers and emergency responders.

Blue bottles are used to contain health information such as a person’s allergies, current ailments, medications and dosage requirements, physician’s name and telephone number. Paramedics and other emergency personnel are alerted to the blue bottle by a magnet on the person’s fridge and a sticker on their front door. The bottle itself is stored in the refrigerator freezer.

Kits are available for free in Williams Lake at the Better at Home office in the Williams Lake Seniors’ Activity Centre Mondays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
