BC Transit seeks opinion on route changes in Sooke, West Shore, Peninsula

BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission are seeking public feedback on the future of transit in the West Shore, the Saanich Peninsula, and Sooke.

The changes being proposed will affect Route 39 Westhills/Interurban/Royal Oak/UVic, Route 51 Langford/UVic, Route 65 Sooke/Downtown, Route 81 Brentwood/Saanichton/Sidney/Swartz Bay, Route 82 Sidney/Saanichton, Route 87 Saanichton/Sidney, and Route 88 Airport/Sidney.

If approved, the changes would go into effect in the fall or winter of 2025 and 2026 as part of regular service changes.

The survey can be found at engage.bctransit.com/victoria-2025_26-service-change, and will be available until May 2.

Opinions can be shared in person on April 26 at the Sooke Earth Day Celebration in Sooke Memorial Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..

There will be another opportunity on April 29 at the Langford Transit Exchange from 7 to 8:30 a.m., the UVic Exchange from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and the Mary Winspear Centre from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
