3 new appointments announced for SD27

Carol Doherty, Shilo Labelle and Miranda Wasstrom have new positions in the district

School District 27 announces three new appointments.

School District 27 by superintendent Cheryl Lenardon has announced three new appointed positions. 

Carol Doherty, who joined the district on Aug. 18, is the district's youth community connections manager. 

"Ms. Doherty joins us from Nenqayni Wellness Treatment Centre where she spent the past five years working as a family alcohol and drug counsellor," Lenardon said in a news release. "Ms. Doherty brings with her a comprehensive educational background in crisis intervention, public health and community engagement as well as a passion for youth and education."

Shilo Labelle is moving into the role of education facilitator.

Labelle has worked the past two years in various secretarial positions within SD27.

Lenardon said Labelle has previously worked as an executive assistant for the Central Interior Rural Division of Family Practice and as the executive director for the Cariboo Brain Injury Society.

"Ms. Labelle brings with her strong communication skills and an enthusiasm for learning."

Miranda Wasstrom will take on the manager of health, safety and wellness position as of Oct. 1.

"Ms. Wasstrom brings with her a wealth of safety knowledge including the National Construction Safety Officer designation, an Ergonomics System Specialist Designation, OSSA Fall Protection and Elevated Work Platform instructor, WHMIS 2015 instructor, Certification for substance abuse awareness, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice," Lenardon noted. 

Wasstrom has spent the past 10 years working as the corporate safety manager for QSI Interiors Ltd., which involved working with five branches over three provinces.
