2024 Grey Cup Festival Tour touches down in Williams Lake Aug. 24

BC Lions fans will have an opportunity to learn more about the team's history

Local residents are invited to take in the 2024 Grey Cup Festival Tour of B.C. on Saturday, Aug. 24 in Williams Lake.

Powered by LiUNA Local 1611, the tour's custom caravan van will be parked outside Johnston Meir Insurance at 280 Third Avenue North from noon until 4 p.m.

The tour is an opportunity for communities to help celebrate the upcoming 111th Grey Cup.

"We will have tailgate games, contests, giveaways and our big Grey Cup blowup for people to take photographs with," said Jelaina Salcedo, site supervisor. "We also have our fan cam."

Salcedo said Friday morning she and the other two people on the tour with her were just getting ready to leave Dawson Creek to drive to Williams Lake.

"Williams Lake is our second to last stop on the tour," she explained.

They began on May 31, 2024 with the plan to visit 50 B.C. communities by the time the tour finished in Victoria at the debut of Touchdown Pacific and coinciding Fan Festival on Aug. 29 to 31.

Salcedo said the tour around the province has gone really well and been very busy.
