Two 19-year-old men are facing roadside suspensions after West Shore RCMP responded to reports of erratic driving and tire burnouts outside a Langford shopping complex.
Officers were called to the parking lot at 3005 Merchant Way around 11:30 p.m. on June 24, where they found a grey Ford F-350 and a red Dodge Ram.
Police say both drivers showed signs of alcohol impairment and were issued immediate roadside prohibitions (IRPs).
The Dodge Ram driver received a 90-day IRP and had their vehicle impounded for 30 days. The Ford F-350 driver received a three-day IRP, and their vehicle was also impounded for 30 days.
“Officers were able to locate these vehicles right away due to quick actions of the complainant reporting it to police as it was unfolding,” said Cpl. Mike Jacobson of the West Shore RCMP. “If you see dangerous driving behaviour and/or suspect impaired driving, please report it to police right away.”
