Break-and-enters, thefts and impaired driving were among the 86 calls 100 Mile House RCMP responded to between Nov. 5 and Nov. 12, 2024.
100 Mile House RCMP Sgt. Brian Lamb, in an update provided to media on Nov. 12, highlighted the following incidents from those 86 calls.
On Nov. 5, RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter from a property located on Stokes Road. A building at the location was entered where electrical harnesses were taken. There was also ignition damage to a tractor on the property. The incident is believed to have occurred overnight.
On Nov. 6, RCMP received a report of mischief and theft from a property in the 400 block of Horse Lake Road. Sometime in the previous two weeks, an irrigation hose was cut and a section was removed and taken.
On Nov. 7, RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle fire in the 5000 block of Tatton Station Road. Police attended with local fire departments. The vehicle, which was on private property, was fully engulfed on arrival. Based on evidence left at the scene, the fire is believed to be suspicious. The incident is believed to have occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 8:10 a.m.
On Nov. 7, RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter to a business located in the 300 block of Birch Avenue. Sometime overnight the door to the business was broken and entry was made. Valuables were taken as a result.
On Nov. 8, RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 near Exeter Station Rd. Police attended with EHS where a vehicle was found rolled onto its side and another with front end damage. After speaking with several witnesses, it was determined that a vehicle turning left off the highway onto Exeter Station Rd was struck by a south bound vehicle causing the turning vehicle to roll onto its side. One driver was taken to hospital for what was believed to be minor injuries.
On Nov. 9, RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver located in a parking lot in the 300 block of Highway 97. Police attended and located the vehicle with two female occupants inside. The driver of the vehicle displayed symptoms of alcohol impairment and a breath demand for alcohol testing was issued. Subsequently, the driver refused to provide a sample of their breath and as result was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition from driving for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
On Nov. 9, RCMP received a report of a stolen bicycle from the 200 block of Elm Avenue. A Norco “Manic” bike tan in colour was taken from a ground level patio at this location. Damage was caused to a chain link fence to access the bicycle. The incident is believed to have occurred overnight.
