Cariboo-raised musician Sam Tudor is returning home as part of the line-up for Performances in the Park, Thursday, Aug. 1.
Tudor grew up in Big Lake and Gavin Lake and graduated from Williams Lake Secondary School.
"Sam explores, samples, and experiments with various moods, instruments, even musicians that he's met while living in various cities across the country," noted organizers of Performances in the Park.
To date Tudor has recorded three albums: Quotidian Dream in 2017, Two Half Worlds in 2021 and Hidden Minute in June 2024.
Joining him on the stage will be his younger sibling, Ben Tudor.
Opening the show Thursday will be Talel McBriar, a singer-songwriter from Victoria, B.C.
Her music is described as blending traditional folk with alternative indie influences, with a familiarity found in her vocal tone and melody.
"She grapples with the times eloquently, even skillfully," noted organizers of Performances in the Park. "Get set for a thoughtful and beautiful set."
A graduate from the Selkirk College Music and Technology Program in Nelson, McBriar has released music videos and in 2022, released her first EP Flood Season.
The music starts at 6 p.m. in Boitanio Park at the Glen Ringwood ampitheatre.
