Saanich has launched a new initiative aimed at boosting the local economy and strengthening ties with the business community.

The BusinessCare program will see municipal staff connect directly with local business owners to gather insights on current challenges, opportunities and trends. The goal is to support business growth and inform future municipal planning.

“As our economy changes, helping businesses remain competitive and resilient is more important than ever,” says Mayor Dean Murdock. “Engaging directly with local businesses will enable the district to create a stronger, more supportive and connected business environment.”

The initiative aligns with Saanich’s Economic Development Strategy and emphasizes data-driven decision-making, collaboration and improved business services. Over the coming months, staff will meet with business owners across the district.
