Williams Lake RCMP apprehend suspect following brief chase down Mountain House Road Saturday.

A man accused of ramming a police cruiser before fleeing from police and rolling his vehicle on the Mountain House Road Saturday made his first court appearance in Williams Lake Provincial Court Monday.

Jared Alistair Ingle, 22, is in police custody and is facing six charges all told including; carry, use or threaten to use a weapon, flight from peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop at accident with vehicle, possession of a firearm contrary to order and breach of probation.

Ingle, who was wanted by police on an outstanding warrant involving another incident from April 11, fled from police after being observed in the area, where a funeral was about to take place for Jonathan Sellars, one of two men killed at a residence on North Mackenzie Ave. April 18.

Ingle was apprehended after rolling his vehicle following a short pursuit by police, who quickly apprehended the suspect, as well as another individual.

Police described Ingle as a dangerous offender who is well-known to them and known to be violent. Ingle’s previous criminal convictions include assault, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.

The arrest warrant from April 11 included offences of dangerous driving, hit and run, threats and breach of conditions, said police.

“The offenders involved in violent offences or making threats of violence will be pro-actively targeted for full accountability,” said Williams Lake RCMP Insp. Jeff Pelley.
