The Victoria Choral Society is on the hunt for new singers for its 2025-2026 season.

From 6 to 9 p.m. on June 10, 11 and 17, the Oak Bay United Church will open its doors to those hoping to audition for the symphonic choir, which is approaching its 91st season.

Directed by Brian Wismath, the society is dedicated to “presenting the finest choral music from baroque to contemporary,” it said in a news release. Each year, the group produces concerts and has collaborated with community partners, like the Ballet Victoria, Pacific Opera Victoria, Victoria Chamber Orchestra and the Victoria Symphony.

"As one of Victoria’s premier auditioned choirs, we are a vibrant community of passionate singers committed to artistic excellence," the society said in a news release. “If you're seeking a choir that inspires, challenges, and performs with professional orchestras and soloists, we invite you to audition and become part of our exciting season ahead."

The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings from September to May at the Oak Bay United Church. Its annual membership fee is $275, plus a refundable $40 music deposit. Bursaries are available, and those aged 25 and under qualify for a free membership.
