Ghost Tours of Vernon are back, with new hosts ready to scare up a good time.
The ghost tours have been a staple in the North Okanagan for 20 years, hosted by Gabriel David Sumegi Newman II, who has led more than 10,000 eager participants through the macabre and paranormal history of Vernon.
Starting Sept. 17, the tour will continue its spine-chilling tradition with new hosts Sir Harrison Robert Coe III and Lady Amelia Antonia Serafina Sirianni. The duo aims\ to scare and delight tourists and residents alike with local lore on the hauntings and supernatural stories surrounding the community.
“We are excited and honoured to take over the tours. We want to thank Mr. Newman for all he did in promoting the eerie, uncanny, and ghostly happenings in our historic city. His combination of drama and storytelling won him praise from both young and old,” say Coe and Sirianni. “Since he’s moved on, we imagine he is exploring even more of the paranormal and beyond… and perhaps he’ll pop in on us from time to time.”
Coe and Sirianni may be recognizable to fans of local ghost stories as the actors who portray Leone Caetani and Ofelia Fabiani, the parents of famed artist Sveva Caetani, for the Caetani Cultural Centre’s Halloween House Tours. The pair are professional actors having graced stages across North America and performed for film and television.
Ghost Tours of Vernon's 21st season begins Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. for a week of Harvest Moon Solstice tours. Tours will then continue into October for terrifying tales just in time for Halloween. School and private group tours are also available.
