A musical collaboration in Errington will pay tribute to Canadian music this spring.
'North of 49' will feature an all-star lineup at the Errington Hall on May 10.
Although people may be more familiar with the musical genre of Americana, there's a wealth of great music in Canada as well.
The material will include the likes of Canadian music icons Ian Tyson, Bruce Cockburn, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Anne Murray, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Willie P. Bennett and Blue Rodeo.
The musicians include: Doug Cox (dobro, guitar, mandolin, vocals), Colleen Eccleston (guitar, vocals), John McLachlan (guitar, vocals), Steve Mitchell (guitar, bass, ukulele, vocals), Tom Neville (fiddle, mandolin, guitar) and Mick Sherlock (harmonicas, vocals).
Each artist performing in ‘North of 49’ has selected the artists and songs that speak most powerfully to them and are offering their own interpretations with the backing of their musical friends.
The show starts at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $35 and are available at Shades of Green, the Errington Store and online at https://ErringtonHall.Tickit.ca. Children ages six to 12 are $5 and teens are $15 at the door; children under six are free.
