Saturday, Dec. 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Thompson Rivers University - Williams Lake campus. Special guest Kukpi7 (Chief) Fred Robbins of Esket’emc First Nation will speak and provide lived experience of residential school. The event will provide an opportunity to view the at installation of the travelling exhibit of the Witness Blanket by master carver Carey Newman/Hayalthkin’geme. From Dec. 1 to 15, the Williams Lake and District Chamber of Commerce will be collecting donations for the Cariboo Friendship Society’s Program for children and Youth Experiencing Violence. Donation suggestions include games, school supplies, puzzles, art and craft supplies and gift cards and can be dropped off at the Tourism Discovery Centre, 1660 Broadway Ave. South. Staff will turn on the light display at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, there will be Winter Lights Activities from 1 to 4 p.m. downtown. Check out the decorated windows downtown. The Winter Lights parade starts at 5 p.m., followed by an indoor Winter Lights Warm up from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Limelight Theatre, 190A Oliver Street.
