The Boy and the Heron film screening at Paradise Cinemas with proceeds donated to BGC Williams Lake Club. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 at The Open Book. Director Hayao Miyazaki is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished filmmakers in the history of animation. Rated PG, and appropriate for ages 10 and up.
Friday, Feb. 9
A Valentine’s Dance and Silent Auction featuring Cariboo Gold Dance Band and the LCSS Jazz Band. Fundraiser for the LCSS Tour Band trip to Greece and Italy. Saturday, Feb. 10
Business at its best social hosted by the Williams Lake and District Chamber of Commerce. Beginning at 6 p.m. at the Williams Lake Visitors Centre. Picture a night filled with stories, and an atmosphere buzzing with admiration for those who’ve made a difference in the lives of their customers.

Valentine’s Days in Horsefly featuring Big Fancy with old time, country blues and ragtime. Tickets are$25 and available at Clarke’s General Store in Horsefly, The Open Book in Williams Lake or at the door. Children under 12 free.
Wednesday, Feb. 14
Medusa on Tour. The Community Arts Council of Williams Lake and the Cariboo Chilcotin Youth Fiddler Society are co-hosting a concert at the Gibraltar Room. Advance tickets are available at The Open Book for $25 or $30 at the door. Tickets for youth under 16 are $15. There will be a concession available by donation.
Monday, Feb. 19
The Family Ice Fishing Derby presented by the 150 Mile Elementary PAC takes place at Dugan Lake on Horsefly Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $20, children 12 and under free. There will be prizes. Tickets are available at Marshall’s Store and Chilcotin Guns.
Saturday, Feb. 24
Williams Lake Craft Beer Festival. A fundraising event for area community organizations, including the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre.
