Permaculture will be the focus of the Williams Lake Garden Club’s next presentation taking place Thursday, April 3.
Kenton Zerbin, an international teacher, designer and consultant who empowers clients and students to repair degraded landscapes, grow food and build community, will share his expertise at the Seniors Activity Centre.
Zerbin began his career in the school system.
While seeking for content relevant for preparing youth for life on earth, he discovered permaculture - a science for designing humans back into their physical and social world.
Whether you're dreaming of growing more food, stewarding the land more wisely, or building a lifestyle rooted in resilience, this workshop will give you inspiration and guidance on where to start, noted a promo about the workshop.
"I look forward to visiting Williams lake and sharing this inspiring movement of beyond-sustainable living," Zerbin told the Tribune. "Bring your notepads... trust me, you are going to want to take notes."
In one of his previous columns for the Tribune, Cariboo rancher David Zirnhelt noted there has been a renewed interest in permaculture.
“Climate change and the economic difficulties in agriculture may be spurring this new interest,” he wrote.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7 p.m.
