Canada celebrated its 157 years on Monday, July 1 and folks from Vernon were eager to party.
Polson Park was the site for the numerous festivities throughout the day, beginning at 10 a.m. with a kids' skate show.
The events were organized by the newly-named Vernon Okanagan Inspired Community Events (VOICE) Society.
An animatronic dinosaur wowed children, while numerous vendors at the Polson Artisan Market were selling goodies.
Kalamalka Highlanders and Sadok Ukranian Dancers were welcomed onto the stage during the afternoon, as a slew of musical acts also serenaded the crowd.
Rainy weather did its best to stop the crowds from forming, but Polson Park still managed hundreds of attendees.
The fun will end with a drone show in the evening.
"To cap off the evening, we are thrilled to present the first-ever drone show in the Okanagan," said VOICE of the 10 p.m. event. "Watch in awe as 250 drones light up the sky in a 15-minute performance that promises to be a highlight of the day."
