The dealership raised the money for NOYFSS' youth and family programs through a month-long promotion.

His staff has spoke of its praises.

But when Vernon Nissan marketing manager Gary Liu went and spent time with North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society (NOYFSS) staff, the idea was clinched.

Vernon Nissan spent the month of April hoping to raise $10,000 for NOYFSS programs.

"Every vehicle sold, a portion of the sale was put into the fund," said Liu. "Same with if a car was being serviced, or detailed. We took a percentage of the transaction and put it into the fund."

The dealership was able to reach the goal on the final day of the month.

"It was tense for a bit," laughed Liu. "Our customers love it. They know we do stuff with the community. We had people swing by with donations too, so that was great.

"This will help bring awareness to what these guys do. When I went to visit, the (NOYFSS) staff spoke passionately about what they do day in and day out.

"We've also had some staff here use NOYFSS' programs, so they're familiar with what they do."

Nissan staff pushed the promotion on its social media platforms to the delight of NOYFSS.

"This is outstanding," said NOYFSS executive director Dean Francks, collecting the cheque at the dealership.
