Community members looking to beat the heat and have some fun have a couple more free options.
The Lakeview Wading Pool and Lavington Outdoor Pool will officially open for the season on Friday, June 27, for all ages.
The new Lakeview Pool is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a daily cleaning closure from 1:30 to 2 p.m. There is also a splash pad at Lakeview pool at that is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. through mid September.
"Perfect for younger kids and toddlers, the splash pad is a great way to enjoy water play with no swimming required," the City of Vernon advises.
The Lavington Pool is open seven days a week: Monday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., but closed for public use as swim lessons take place from 10 to 12 and 5 to 6. The pool is open Friday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The City of Vernon, advises that hours are subject to change based on staffing availability.
The outdoor pool season runs through Labour Day, with all pools scheduled to close on Sept. 2, weather permitting.
Parents and caregivers are reminded that they must accompany children under the age of six in the pool, proper swimwear is required and children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
