The Williams Lake Stampede is awarding Tim and Susan Rolph lifetime memberships for their many years of dedicated volunteerism to the event and organization.
Tim Rolph grew up around rodeo and ranching, and said helping out with the Williams Lake Stampede was a natural progression.
He said he realized like so many things, in community, you get out what you put in, plus, as business owners, he and his wife Susan saw the importance of the event for the area.
Tim started out helping with the rodeo side of things in the nineties, and Willie Crosina later invited him to join the board. He started out with the rodeo portfolio, spent four years as president and now has stepped back from the board to give room for board progression.
Susan Rolph got her start with the Stampede picking up garbage in the grandstands with her kids in 4H. From there, she volunteered in the box office, and then joined the board and took on the grandstand portfolio. She helped bring in online ticket sales and made changes to the seating.
She missed a lot of the action, being behind the stands, but her work was just as important, helping keep things flowing.
The pair will be acknowledged at this year's Stampede.
