Dinah Charleyboy was out Saturday, April 12, trying to capture photographs of the 'pink moon' in Williams Lake.
She captured her photographs at around 9:30 p.m. above the WIlliams Lake Stampede Grounds with her cell phone.
"This moon is furthest point from Earth," Charleyboy wrote in an email, adding the Farmers' Almanac describes the "phenomenon as a micromoon - the opposite of the Supermoon."
Other names for the pink moon are the Paschal Moon (Passover Moon), notes the Farmers' Almanac, providing the following information.
"April's Full Pink Moon is named after moss phlox (or creeping phlox), among the first flowers to bloom in spring, bearing pink, purple and white hues.
