PHOTOS: East Sooke fire volunteers get tied up in rope rescue training

It was one of many training sessions the fire hall conducts

Standard weekly training saw fire volunteers tied up in knots in East Sooke.

The Thursday evening (July 11) training had volunteers with the East Sooke Volunteer Fire Department practicing rope rescue skills that allow members to access and remove patients from areas otherwise inaccessible.

Rural rescues are one service the department provides to the community of 1,700 residents. They also offers education, activities and community events such as a recent open house.
