Ladysmith: markets, markets, markets!

Three opportunities to shop local in Ladysmith

Whether you're looking for fresh produce, handmade gifts or rainbow-themed community fun, Ladysmith has a market for that.

Ladysmith Farmers Market

Tuesdays, May 27 – Sept. 23, 3 – 7 p.m., Eagles Hall parking lot, 921 1st Ave.

One of Vancouver Island’s longest-running markets, the Ladysmith Farmers Market offers locally grown produce, baked goods, preserves and more. Held weekly rain or shine, the market is a great after-work stop for seasonal groceries and a casual stroll.

Ladysmith Makers Market

Saturday, May 31, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Eagles Hall, 921 1st Ave.

A showcase for local creativity, the Makers Market features handmade goods ranging from sourdough bread and soaps to jewelry, pottery and woodwork. It’s a great way to support small-scale makers and find something unique, whether you’re buying for yourself or someone else.

Ladysmith Pride Celebration Market

Sunday, June 1, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., 1st Avenue (Roberts St. to High St.)

This vibrant downtown street market is part of the Ladysmith Pride celebration and includes local artisans, makers, community organizations and more. Expect a festive atmosphere with music, food and family-friendly activities. Bring your reusable shopping bags and your Pride spirit.

Each of these markets reflects a different slice of the community, but they all share the same goal of bringing people together and supporting local.
